Why We Built This Site
Kansas hands out phone information one office at a time. Kansas.gov has an agency list you can browse, but you have to know which agency you want before it helps. The State of Kansas Online Communications Directory, the employee whitepages people used to search by name, is offline for maintenance until further notice per a Department of Administration notice. That leaves the State Agency Directory Operator at 785-296-0111 as the practical starting point when you are not sure who handles your question.
County numbers are their own hunt. Kansas has 105 counties and 31 judicial districts, and each county posts its own sheriff, clerk, and courthouse numbers on its own site. School and district numbers sit in directory files kept by the Kansas State Department of Education. Campus numbers live in the KU directory and the K-State people search. Evergy and Kansas Gas Service each run separate customer service and emergency lines. On top of all that sit the four area codes serving the state, 316, 620, 785, and 913, along with the NANPA and FCC references that explain how they work. We pull the lookup tools, contact methods, and reference data for all of it into one place.
What You Will Find Here

- Kansas directory contacts: the Kansas.gov agency list, county sheriff and county office numbers for all 105 counties, KSDE education directories, the KU and K-State campus directories, Evergy and Kansas Gas Service, and public-safety lines
- Walkthroughs: how to reach a state agency while the employee directory is down, how to find a county office number, and how to check on an unknown caller

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to Kansas.gov, any Kansas state agency, any county or city office, any school district, any utility, any phone carrier, or any directory operator. There are real limits to what we can help with:
- We cannot place calls on your behalf or connect you to a department
- We cannot change anyone's directory listing, add a number, or remove a listing
- We cannot verify the identity of someone who called you
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific scam call applies to your situation
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, area code, or directory link on this site is current right now
Only the Kansas office or company that owns a number can confirm it is current or change a listing. There is no statewide 311 line in Kansas, so for general state questions the operator line is 785-296-0111. For emergencies, dial 911. For a mental-health or suicidal crisis, dial 988.
